“In terms of scope, and in terms of sheer number of characters, we went beyond our limits long ago.”

Go Big Or Go Home
Today Steve from Minecraft was announced to be joining the roster of playable characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, a fighting game featuring playable characters from across many different video games (mainly Nintendo franchises). You can shoot Pikachu with a rocket launcher as Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid and that makes it awesome.

That picture isn’t up to date by the way.
But I’m not here to talk about the game, though I hope to get around to it some day. Today I want to talk about a cover of the main theme of the game “Lifelight”.
It’s a catchy song that was used in the trailer that announced the game and it is very nice. Then the 8-Bit Big Band came along with one of the best covers ever made.
664 different musicians came together during the current pandemic to create something truly wonderful. I listen to and watch this to help cheer myself up sometimes because it’s just magical watching the individual artists do their thing. Big shout out to the old guy who brought along an organ!
If you’re interested in hearing some big band versions of video game music then I highly recommend checking out their YouTube channel.
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you all next time. Until then, remember to take care of yourselves. Peace.
